Motor Show An exceptional motorbike exhibition entitled FIM Historic Event

Close-up on 70 years of the technical evolution in racing!

As previously announced by Pole Position, more than ever the motorbike will take centre stage at the International Motorshow Luxembourg. Proof that, as from this year, there will be FIM Historic Event exhibition organised in close collaboration with the Fédération International de Motocyclisme! None other…

The exhibition will focus on the theme ‘70 years of technological evolution in competition’, organised with the support of the Amicale Spirit of Speed. It will cover the entirety of the World Championship since 1949 through to this day, with a choice selection of machines allowing one and all to discover the major technological evolutions in Grand Prix and MotoGP, Superbike and Endurance.

The FIM Historic Event will exhibit exclusive machines whose authenticity has been established through a certification procedure which irrefutably confers their identity. Collectors from all over Europe will be present to display a selection of motorbikes never seen in Luxembourg, representing the quintessence of the technologies over these decades of evolution.

These historic machines were ridden by Dovizioso, Roberts Jr, Abe, Agostini, Sheene, Chili, Mamola, Grant, Lansivuori, Pirro, Checa, Rigal, Bagnaia, Bonera, Uncini, and even the renowned French comedian Coluche for a world speed record with a Yamaha 750 TZ in Nardo in 1985…

The collection will include - among others – a focus on the fabulous Suzuki 500 which saw the light of day in 1974 and bowed out in 2002 with the MotoGP as replacement of the class 500. The major models which made history will be present allowing one and all to discover the technical evolution in an informative manner.

Special attention will be given to the presentation of machines that will need to reveal their generally well-hidden secrets under their fairings. A workshop will allow those interested the opportunity to enjoy explanations from the proud collectors of these exceptional machines. And as a first, motorbikes will be fired up during the ‘warm-up’! Who has not missed the whistling sound of those 4 cylinder 2 stroke engines or dream of being within 2 metres of a MotoGP warming up …

In a nutshell, a FIM Historic Event will be a historical milestone in the Grand Duchy, and one which will not fail to draw in the countless motorbike racing aficionados…
